About Eldercare 24/7

A doctor-led model built to protect dignity, prevent avoidable decline, and bring accountability to elder care.

Our purpose

Structured clinical care for safer ageing

Eldercare 24/7 was founded in East London, Eastern Cape, to address a critical need in elder care across South Africa — a need for continuous doctor-led clinical oversight, rational medication management, structured caregiver training, and transparent communication.

Dr Buyisiwe Mhlaba established Eldercare 24/7 after observing elders experiencing preventable complications, unmanaged polypharmacy, and premature labels of irreversible decline without comprehensive clinical reassessment. Families were left without clear medical guidance, and dedicated caregivers operated without ongoing physician governance.

Eldercare 24/7 delivers a proactive, doctor-led model of care. We identify what is treatable, stabilise complex chronic conditions, and ensure comfort and dignity when life approaches its natural conclusion — guided by evidence-based medicine and structured clinical governance.

Our approach integrates regular clinical rounds, systematic medication reviews in coordination with treating practitioners, comprehensive risk assessments, and continuous caregiver guidance. Every clinical decision is documented in full compliance with POPIA, ensuring complete transparency and peace of mind for families.
